Thank you, God, for RIC

Thank you, God, for RIC

  • Thank you Father, for bringing me and my family to Rome to experience the work of Jesus, the Son of God, who builds his church (Matthew 16:18). What a relief, to know that the church is not build on or by any one person, save the person of Jesus Christ! This truth has been a tremendous gift to me when I consider the task of church planting.

  • Thank you, Good Shepherd, for raising up men who exemplify the character and care of Jesus for his flock. Protect our elders, their families, and fill them with your Word and your Spirit. May they declare the whole counsel of God and may we heed their godly admonishment (Acts 20:26, 31). We trust you for faithful men to whom the gospel leadership of the church can be entrusted (2 Tim 2:2)

  • Thank you, Word of Life, that you have revealed your truth to your people. Praise you for awakening a thirst among us for the Scriptures. Teach us to handle it well (2 Tim 2:15), that by our healthy doctrine we might enjoy your salvation and save others (1 Tim 4:16).

  • Thank you, God, for sending the men and women and children who have comprised the edifice of your church (1 Peter 2:5). This year, I have been humbled again by your sovereign hand to send the souls who have walked through our church doors. You desire that they would know you (Acts 17:26-27). May their knowledge and love for you abound!

  • Thank you, God for arranging the members of your church by your choosing (1 Corinthians 12:18). How they need one another! Praise you, Father, for your body is caring for itself, building one another up in love, stirring one another up toward love and good deeds!

  • Thank you, Maker of all nations. You are magnifying the light of the good news of Jesus to our neighbors, our city, and our world. May all who look into RIC see the workmanship of Christ as we carry out his good deeds (Eph 2:10), and may they glorify you, Father in Heaven (Matthew 5:16).

  • Thank you God, for providing all that we need in your Son Jesus. He provides for his betrothed seed for sowing that we would have an increased harvest (2 Corinthians 9:10). Richly bless your church for the spread of the gospel in the years to come.

  • Thank you, Lord and Savior who reveals his presence among his people. Give us more of you, Jesus as you lead us into this Christmas season.

Amen
