Advent

Advent:

Why do we do Advent readings?

Why do we do advent readings?

We do advent readings in the Old and New Testament to see how God fulfills his promise of a Savior. Since he has proven himself faithful to keep the greatest of promises, we can rest all our hope on the promises of God still to come.

For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
— Romans 15:4

Hope for the future is found in knowing what has been written.

  • Hope builds endurance according to that instruction.

  • Hope fuels encouragement in the record of Scripture.

If you missed the Advent reading schedule, HERE it is again. Take time each day to discover God's great promise of Jesus, our Messiah who came and is coming again.

Heralding his coming with you,
Loren
